The Third Generation Merlot Winemaking
The Third Generation Merlot from Nugan Estate is sure to be a crowd pleaser. There are many factors which have led to this wine being a particularly good vintage. In the Riverina in regional New South Wales we had an incredibly mild summer. Additionally, we had above average rainfall, which is largely responsible for prolonging the harvest. This did ensure slow, even ripening of the fruit. We harvest the grapes for this wine in March. To retain the delicate natural aromas and flavours we crush and cold macerate the fruit. This is all done prior to pressing. Thereafter, the wine goes through slow, cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Select parcels will then receive American Oak treatment prior to final blending and bottling.

Perfect with barbequed red meat and seafood dishes. Try with barbequed lamb straps or seared tuna nicoise salad. This wine, as with many of the wines from the Nugan Estate range, is also part of our vegan friendly range. This wine is 13.5 percent alcohol content.
