The Manuka Grove Vineyard Durif is a rich and robust red grape variety that revels in the warm and dry conditions of Hanwood in New South Wales. Durif is also known as Petite Sirah. After the team harvest the grapes, they will then crush, add yeast and finally pump over in the traditional style. The winemaking team will do all these steps so as to avoid the extraction of bitter tannins.
The winemaking eam, under the guidance of Daren Owers, will then transfer the juice to American oak for fermentation. The juice will remain in barrels for a further 24 months, where it will mature in both one year old & seasoned French and American oak. Afterwards, it will be ready for final blending and bottling.
