Frasca’s Lane Sauvignon Blanc Winemaking
We source the grapes for the Frasca’s Lane Sauvignon Blanc from Victoria’s cool climate King Valley. Once the winemaking team pick the grapes they gentle press them. After this, the fruit goes through slow, cool fermentation. This is done in order to preserve the delicate fruit flavours that are famous from this cool climate region. After the juice receives twenty four hour skin contact, the team will remove the membranes from the parcels.
The winemaking team will then clarify and inoculate with selective yeast cultures to promote aromatics and mouthfeel. Fermentation for the Sauvignon Blanc is undertaken in temperature controlled vats. The parcels will remain on gross yeast lees for a further 4 months before we rack and blend. Once the fruit is dry, the wine will age sur lie prior to final blending and bottling. This will all take place under the watchful eye of Nugan Estate’s Chief Winemaker, Daren Owers.
This wine is pale straw in appearance with youthful green hues. It also has vibrant aromas of lemon, lime and guava followed by a lively palate of grapefruit, nettle and a mouth-watering lime acidity.
