This Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the classic Coonawarra region of South Australia. Deep purple with vibrant hues. Enticing dark fruit aromas of blackcurrant and mulberry mixed with a hint of mint and eucalypt entwine gracefully with earthy tones and mixed spice. Intense flavours of dark berries, vibrant cassis fruit and velvety tannins beautifully melded with subtle oak accompaniment.
Alcira Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Winemaking
We source the grapes for the Alcira Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the classic Coonawarra region of South Australia. This wine is part of the Single Vineyard Collection from Nugan Estate. The Single Vineyard Collection to showcases the best varietals from Australia’s finest wine growing regions. Our winemaking team, under the guidance of Chief Winemaker, Daren Owers, will craft each wine to reflect its unique varietal and regional characteristics.
Once we harvest the fruit for this wine, the winemaking team will work hard and fast to destem and chill it. The fruit will then be left for a two-day cold soak. Afterwards, the team will carefully inoculate the parcels with a pure yeast culture. The fermentation process takes place in Vinimatics and static fermenters with manual pump overs every 6 hours. Once this stage is complete of alcoholic fermentation, the wine will remain on skins for a further two days. After which the team will press the fruit into American and French hogsheads for 14 months maturation.

This wine is deep purple with vibrant hues. It has enticing aromas of blackcurrant and mulberry, which we meld with hints of mint, leather, cedar, earth and also all spice. The palate displays intense flavours of dark berries, vibrant cassis fruit, followed by velvety tannins, as well as a subtle oak accompaniment.
