Alfredo Dried Grape Shiraz

We source the grapes for this Dried Grape Shiraz from premium vineyards in the Riverina and McLaren Vale in South Australia. Once the winemaking team harvest the grapes, we dry a select parcel of the Shiraz to create flavour intensity, as well as concentration. After fermentation, the wine will remain on its skins for a further five days further. We do this to improve its richness before maturation in American and French oak. We will leave this wine to mature for 12 months, which will result in a hand made wine of quality.

Winemakers Comments

This wine is dense garnet with crimson hue. It also has attractive aromas of cherry and plum with dark chocolate, earth and herbaceous notes. Warm, rich and complex palate layered with black cherry with savoury nuances and smooth velvety tannins.

Wine & Food Match

Wonderful match with a variety of foods; from pasta to slow cooked meat dishes and aged cheeses. But if you really want to appreciate this wine, do as the Romans do, and partner it to your favourite Italian dish such as Osso Buco or Veal Milanese.

Alfredo Dried Grape Shiraz

The Alfredo Dried Grape Shiraz from Nugan Estate is made in dedication to our founder, Alfredo Nugan. Alfredo made the decision to emigrate from Spain in 1940. In doing so, he had a clear vision of of what his family’s new life in Australia would look like. Today, his legacy sees the Nugan family as one of Australia’s most successful agricultural enterprises. This range of wines is a low run collection of premium wines. And we make this range as a tribute to his vision and passion, which he did instil in us, his family. As a result, we continuously work hard to pursue his ideals of outstanding quality and service.
