The McLaren Vale Shiraz Winemaking:
We source the grapes for this wine from our McLaren Parish Vineyard. This vineyard is in the classic Shiraz region of McLaren Vale, South Australia. Once the winemaking team harvest the grapes, they will then destem and chill the parcels. The parcels will then receive a forty eight hour cold soak. Afterwards, the team will inoculate the parcel with a pure yeast culture. The wines will then ferment in Vinimatics and static fermenters with manual pump overs every 6 hours. Upon completion of alcoholic fermentation, the wine will remain on skins for a further two days. After this, the team will then press the grapes into American and French hogsheads for 14 months maturation.
The Nugan Estate Single Vineyard Collection is our label dedicated to showcasing the best varietals from Australia’s finest wine growing regions. The winemaking team will work hard to craft each wine to reflect its unique varietal and regional characteristics.
