Annelise Shiraz Rose
Low yielding vineyards produce the fruit for this wine which is treated very carefully at the winery to ensure we get great colours and flavours. This great Australian Shiraz Rose has an appealing fruit driven style. Lifted aromas of juicy cherry and red berries, followed on the palate by soft red cherry flavours with a refreshing, clean finish.
We make the Annelise Shiraz Rose from Nugan Estate as a tribute to our founders, Annelise and Alfredo Nugan. We are a third-generation company which was founded in 1940 by Alfredo Nugan. He and his wife Annelise emigrated from Spain to escape the Spanish civil war. This wine is part of the limited release Alfredo collection of premium wines. This range of wines pay tribute to their vision and the passion they instilled in us, their family, to pursue their ideals of outstanding quality and service.
It is from here that the family business started building on the traditions, we hold true today. And still, 80 years on we continue to uphold these traditions, like honesty and a commitment to hard work.
Nugan Estate remains a family owned and operated business. We have a commitment to the future and are working hard to reduce our carbon footprint. As a result, we have adopted several environmentally sustainable practices over the years. Our goal is to produce a sustainable company for the future. The entire winery is indoors, which reduces our energy usage and our carbon footprint. Further to this, we control the temperature of all our tanks, which is key to maintaining quality. Additionally, the underground barrel cave is perfect for the maturation of our wines in quality French and American oak barrels.
Annelise Shiraz Rose from Nugan Estate Winemaker’s Comments
The Annelise Shiraz Rose from Nugan Estate is light straw with a youthful green hue. It has enticing fresh aromas of pear and apple with citrus and tropical notes. This wine also has a crisp and vibrant palate of pear, apple and grapefuit. The mineral accents allow for a crisp and clean finish.
We harvest the grapes for this wine February 2019. The wine is twelve percent alcohol and the perfect serving temperature is 18 degrees celsius. This wine is also vegan friendly for your enjoyment.
After we pick the grapes, we then gently pressed them to preserve the delicate fruit flavours. Once dry, the wine matures prior to final blending and bottling.
WINE & FOOD MATCH
